Three Percent and Counting

This year, I had hoped to have a fresh story in mind for NaNoWriMo–maybe even something original. Then I assumed that I would use November to get a jumpstart on my Dawnguard story. Instead, I’ve decided to harness the energy of NaNoWriMo for my own purposes, and put in motion a disciplined time-management plan that will get me back on track with the Disaster.  The goals are simple, 1200-1600 words each day on the current chapter, editing only when the chapters are finished so they can be posted.  With that in mind, reaching 50,000 words may take a bit longer. But that is good, because I hope to extend this writing schedule indefinitely.

Today, before I had to quit for more professional writing and teaching endeavors, I got 1400 words out.  If I can do this again tomorrow AND incorporate all the stuff that’s already written for this chapter, I’ll be ready to post very soon.

Wish me luck! And good luck to everyone participating this year. I’m really excited about this. And determined. I mean, I have a word count meter and everything.

  1. Is it wrong of me to not know what “NaNoWriMo” is? Also, is that a word counter widget or something else? I have been wondering but I am also too lazy to look for it in the widgets section. Look forward to what ever it is you write next hehe.

  2. I’ve been looking for similar meters for my page, but I hadn’t found one I really liked (or that would also work with WordPress, so, I’m really glad that you pointed this out. I’m just using it for my own purposes, not the National Writing Month thing.

Maybe it’ll inspire me to get more words down for AST. ;D

    Thanks, Elspeth!
